Visionaries Behind the Radar

Mission Protocol

Built for the Next Generation of Pilots.

PilotRadar is built on the belief that general aviation should be more than just hours in a logbook. We are creating a tactical ecosystem where student pilots, veterans, and professionals converge to share costs, knowledge, and the pure joy of flight.

Founder, Veteran, & Licensed Private Pilot

U.S. Navy Veteran | CTR

I’m Bennett Heldens, Founder of PilotRadar. I’m a U.S. Navy veteran, where I served as a Cryptologic Technician (CTR) specializing in cryptography and intelligence operations. After separating from the military, I made the decision to fully pursue my passion for aviation.

I’m currently in flight training and have earned my Private Pilot License, continuing to build toward a professional flying career. Throughout my time in flight school, I noticed a major gap—pilots in training rarely get the opportunity to truly enjoy general aviation. The cost of training, combined with aircraft rental expenses, often limits flying to only what’s required.

But flying is more than just a career—it’s a passion, a lifestyle, and something that should be experienced beyond structured training.

That realization led to the creation of PilotRadar.

PilotRadar is built to connect pilots through a trusted, location-based network—making it easier to find people, share flights, access aircraft, and create opportunities that wouldn’t exist otherwise. Whether it’s splitting time with another student pilot or flying with a seasoned airline captain who can offer mentorship, the goal is to make general aviation more accessible, social, and rewarding.

At its core, PilotRadar is about bringing pilots together and making aviation something you don’t just train for—but truly enjoy.

I’m Jayson, Co-Founder of PilotRadar. My aviation journey has taken me from flight instruction to flying transport-category jets, giving me a full perspective on what it takes to grow in this industry.

I started as a Certified Flight Instructor, where I learned that helping others become pilots is one of the most rewarding parts of aviation. Instructing pushed me to refine my own skills while teaching students the discipline, confidence, and decision-making required to fly safely.

As I gained experience, I earned my Airline Transport Pilot certificate and built over 2,500 flight hours. I’ve had the opportunity to operate a narrow-body jet as a First Officer and serve as Pilot in Command in business jets—experiences that reinforced the importance of precision, leadership, and safety.

Even at the professional level, my passion for general aviation has never gone away. It’s where every pilot starts, and I’ve always believed it should be more accessible for those working toward their goals.

That belief led to the creation of PilotRadar.

PilotRadar is built to help pilots connect, share flights, and create opportunities that make building time more efficient and accessible. Whether it’s flying with another pilot or learning from someone more experienced, the goal is to make aviation more connected and rewarding.

At its core, PilotRadar is about bringing pilots together and supporting the next generation as they build their path in aviation.
